Complications include:
- Post-surgical infections
- Embolism occurs when the loosened fats enter ruptured blood vessels and get trapped or transported to the lungs or brain. Fat emboli may cause permanent disability or fatality.
- Punctured organs
- Changes in sensation at the site of liposuction
- Swelling
- Skin necrosis (skin death)
- Burns
- Fluid Imbalance
- Toxicity from anesthesia
