8. Review your oral contraceptives

Taking the Pill is a popular choice for birth control when you're not looking to get pregnant but some women find that they don't ovulate regularly after they initially come off oral contraceptives. It can take up to a year before a regular menstrual cycle returns, which could be a drawback if you want to try for a baby immediately you stopping them.

Fertility tip: Be aware that it may take some time to ovulate "normally" again once you've stopped taking oral contraceptives. Or if you plan to try for a baby sometime soon, you may wish to switch to another form of contraception such as the condom.
